Provide Health Physics and Radiation Protection Advice to Radwise Limited / Clients as business needs require.
Produce technical reports and written advice on radiological safety.
Provide guidance on the designation of radiation and contamination controlled areas and ensure enforcement of relevant controls and legislative obligations.
Ensure adequate records of radiological conditions are maintained in line with business requirements and legislative obligations.
Advise on and provide support for projects and research involving radiological hazards.
Organise and or provide advice during formal ALARP reviews.
Investigate / organise follow up actions as a result of unplanned radiation or contamination events.
Advise on, and participate in staff training and development in accordance with business needs.
Liaise with, and provide relevant information to, stakeholders as required.
Provide consultant advice.
Take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by his or her work.
Cooperate with the Company and the Client in complying with health and safety requirements.
Monitor and control exposure of Radwise staff to ensure doses are maintained ALARP.
Represent Radwise at Company / Client safety meetings as business needs require.
Appointment as a Radiation Protection Advisor in accordance with Client Safety Rules, Procedures and legislative requirements.
Appointment as an Accredited Health Physicist in accordance with Client's Safety Rules and Procedures.
Organise / supervise / assist the operation of a dosimetry service in accordance with business needs.
Organise / supervise / assist the production, operation or maintenance of a Site Emergency Plan.
Control / organise / assist in the operation of district survey / environmental management programmes in accordance with business needs.
Control / organise / assist in the operation of a waste management programme.
Ideally a Higher National Certificate qualification; preferably in science or engineering discipline.
Preferably a minimum of two years' experience within the civil nuclear industry.
Detailed knowledge of radiological protection, monitoring standards and techniques.
Hold current "Contractors Safety Passport", "IOSH Working Safely" or equivalent.
Other recognised safety management qualification where appropriate to business needs.
Considerable degree of numeracy and literacy.
Superior communication skills in order to provide clear instructions, reports and advice.
Clear understanding of the Company and Site procedures, rules and instructions as applicable.
An understanding of applicable Radwise and Client requirements and expectations.
Appropriate skills and experience necessary to undertake any Safety or Additional Accountabilities.
